Contract Support

At KURIT we have been working with construction contracts for a long time and have extensive experience with standard forms of contract such as JCT, FIDIC and NEC, as well as national and international bespoke contracts.

Many of the disputes which occur over the course of a construction project, arise as a result of one or both parties failing to understand the basis under which they have been contracted to deliver their product or service. In order to mitigate the likelihood of a dispute occurring, it is essential that the parties to a contact have a solid understanding of their respective contractual obligations and liabilities.

Pre-Contract Advice

Many people don’t read or fully understand the construction contracts that they enter into, exposing them to risks that they will likely be unaware of. At KURIT, we offer a contract review service, in which we review the contract on our client’s behalf and provide of summary of the obligation, liability, risk within the contract. If required, KURIT will suggest amendments to the contract to try and limit our client’s exposure to risk. Whilst it is not possible to remove all contractual risks, our contract summary document ensures that our clients have a full understanding of the risks that they are taking, in advance of executing the contract.

On-going Operational Advice

Once the contract is signed, KURIT can provide on-going support to ensure that contract operates smoothly.

At Kurit, we understand the importance of project management and control procedures and the benefit that the early implementation of these procedures can have on the financial success of a project. As no project is the same we offer our clients bespoke plans which ensure the contract is managed in a competent, efficient and timely manner. Not only will this reduce the chance of a issues arising on the project, but provide our client with detailed, accurate and contemporaneous records to which it can refer as it tackles the issue at hand.
